The science of happiness (in a nutshell)

Positive Psychology (PP) - AKA the science of happiness - tells us what works and what it is that contributes to a fulfilling, healthy and flourishing life – sounds good right? And it really is that simple. It’s the scientific study of all aspects of thinking, feeling and behaviour that affects our wellbeing. It is not just about being ‘more positive’, but about becoming the best of ourselves – it’s about understanding and learning how to experience all areas of our lives better.

So in a nutshell – PP is ALL about Flourishing, and Coaching is all about helping people flourish.  They go hand in hand.

Nothing motivates people more than the feeling of happiness - it really is the little things in life that add up to be the big things. Making the choice to be happy, regardless of your circumstances, will create a stronger sense of worth within yourself.  Remember that you are worthy of being happy and You alone are in complete control of your happiness and the actions that you make to achieve happiness.

Happiness means something different to everybody.   So, in order for you to be happy, you must actually do what makes YOU happy! And happiness breeds healthiness, which makes you Flourish – it’s a win/win!!

So what are you waiting for?  It really is the little things in life that do add up to be the big things.

  • Eat the Cake

  • Open the Wine

  • Use the fancy stuff

  • Wear the Dress

  • Dance in the kitchen

  • Laugh out loud

  • Slow down

  • Listen actively

  • Believe in  yourself

  • Get outside

  • Feel the sunshine on your face

  • Be in the moment

  • Go out with your friends

  • Light the expensive candle

  • Pop the champagne

Do whatever it is that makes you Happy. And, Do It More!
